Mystery Entrepreneur to Hide $5,000 Treasure in Dewey Beach on November 2nd

Dewey Beach, DE August 19, 2024 – The 2024 Dewey Treasure Hunt is back for its second year November 2nd & 3rd 2024 in Dewey Beach. The Dewey Treasure Hunt is a 24-hour treasure hunt for an actual hidden treasure of $5,000 in coins and cash.

The History & Reason Why: The hunt was founded and dreamed up by a mystery entrepreneur because [in their words] “in today’s world, we need to rekindle a sense of adventure and reconnect with people.  We genuinely and honestly want to make our world better. This event is meant to be pure enjoyment mixed with the thrill of a real-life treasure hunt.” The hunt was inspired by the famous Forrest Fenn treasure, $1-million hidden years ago by a wealthy art dealer somewhere near the Rocky Mountains (fennstreasure.com). The Dewey Treasure Hunt’s mystery entrepreneur is a business owner around the Delaware beaches and has been an active member of the Sussex County community for years.

Point of Clarity: Our Treasure is not buried. It is NOT on private land. It is NOT in water. It is simply hidden. Teams will receive a poem. If they solve it, they can find the treasure. Do not dig up the beach or ruin any property searching during our Dewey Treasure Hunt. Have fun!

The Details: Teams for the Dewey Treasure Hunt consist of four (4) people. Teams will meet on the beach at 12pm EST Saturday, November 2, 2024 and receive their treasure map, poem and supplies. Teams will reconvene for a closing ceremony with gift card raffles and announcements at 12pm on Sunday November 3rd back on the beach then head to various recommended restaurants for brunch on their own. Solve the poem and find the treasure. In 2023, one of our 25 teams found our treasure early Sunday morning. They donated half of their winnings to Kind to Kids Charity. 50 teams are expected in 2024.
